Summary :
The objective of this project is to complete the illumination of IRHT’s Rainbow multispectral imaging station. Currently, this instrument can acquire 6 images (reflectance and fluorescence image in UV, ViS and IR). The addition of NarrowBand lighting will allow the acquisition of 16 images at wavelengths between 365 and 940 nm using appropriate LED panels. With this new illumination, spectral information can be acquired to a much greater extent, allowing more complex processing to be carried out, in particular to make erased or scratched writing legible, or to analyse the substance of materials or surfaces. In complex cases where materials show similar responses, access to a greater number of images should also improve results. A palette of pure pigments, acquired as part of the project, will allow better characterisation of the nature of the materials used and their distribution.
