The DIM PAMIR “Research and Restoration” working group proposes organizing a new seminar on November 10, 2026, from 8:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Galerie Colbert, entitled “Conservation-Restoration: History and Current Practices.” This study day will focus on current research in the history of conservation-restoration and will explore the evolution of training, professional ethics, and practices from the 18th century to the present.
The roundtable discussion to be held at the end of the day will provide an opportunity to present current interdisciplinary research programs on cultural heritage, in which the expertise of conservators and restorers is fundamental.
This event follows in the footsteps of the conferences “Research in Conservation-Restoration: Ambitions for New Synergies” held in 2023; “Research in Conservation-Restoration: Training and Disseminating Knowledge” held in 2024; and “Roundtables on Research in Conservation-Restoration: Methods and Tools Toward an Ecological Transition” held in 2025.
